The flavor of halibut or walleye and the dense texture of shrimp.

Our mission.

Oregon Royal Sturgeon Co. is committed to raising the highest quality sturgeon in a healthy and humane manner that is sustainable both for the fish and the environment. We will minimize waste and honor all aspects of raising and harvesting our animals. To that end, we will focus on whole-animal butchery when processing our fish, allowing our customers access to the full range of White Sturgeon cuts and products.

Consistent with this commitment, any filtered tank waste or processing by-products of the sturgeon, will be used to produce fertilizers that will be used to enhance gardens and pastures.

We will “Relish the whole fish” by utilizing everything it has to offer.

It began in 2016…

when the partners and staff of Oregon Royal Sturgeon Company started the process of permitting and raising White Sturgeon.

The Goodson Family came to own Fort Klamath Ranch ( www.FortKlamathRanch.com ) in 2012 which had a mothballed salmon hatchery on it that was built in the 1980’s.  With permits in hand, the hatchery was retrofitted to eliminate the need to draw water from, or dispose of water into, the pristine Fort Creek nearby.  This was accomplished by capturing annual precipitation in our large pond and abandoned raceways to be filtered, oxygenated, and recycled in our closed system using the latest Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) technologies.  This technology originated in northern Europe and was adopted in Canada primarily for the use of raising salmon.  The retrofit designs of Oregon Royal Sturgeon Company’s systems were generated by Canadian engineers utilizing their decades of experience leading the North American environmentally sustainable aquaculture industry. Actual hatchery retrofit construction began in 2017 and has continued to date, staying just ahead of the growth of our first 2000 White Sturgeon. The fish processing facility was completed and received it’s U.S. FDA license to operate in June of 2021.

Thanks to our unique position of raising our own fish while owning and operating an onsite fish processing facility that is licensed and inspected by the FDA, we are able to harvest and process our sturgeon on a custom, as ordered basis. This in turn, allows us to sell directly to restaurants, butchers, and consumers. For restaurants and businesses in much of Oregon, weekly deliveries are expected to be available in our refrigerated van.
